A Mess In A Dress

It's a mixed up life...but someone has to live it!

Life Through a Lens || February 2018

March 1, 2018

If January was the month that wouldn’t end, February is probably the month that was over before it began!  Even though it felt like it only lasted for about 5 minutes, we certainly managed to cram a lot of fun stuff in.

Sunshine and Snowdrops

Towards the beginning of February, it actually looked like we might starting to see a bit of Spring sunshine.  Mr Mess and I made the most of the beautiful weather by heading out to the snowdrop walk at Hopton Hall in Derbyshire to take some blog photos.20180214_194250

20180228_194122A Taste of South America at Las Iguanas, Nottingham

Invitations to review restaurants are definitely up there with my favourite ever blogging opportunites.  I had a fabulous time at Las Iguanas in Nottingham, eating all the burritos and drinking all the Pina Coladas.Brunch with the Bloggers

My social calendar has been buzzing this month, with not one but TWO brunch dates with some of my favourite East Midlands/Nottingham bloggers.  First up was the #DerbyBloggersBrunch at Bear in Derby and second was a delicious trip to Browns in Nottingham with some lovely Nottingham blogging ladies.dav

davMy first ever subscription box: FairyLoot February

I have been umming and ahhing over different subscription boxes for a while now and finally I found one I couldn’t resist giving a go.  My first ever FairyLoot box arrived in February and I LOVE it!  I’ve also ordered the March one so now can’t wait for that to arrive.  Hands up if you’d like an unboxing post!

20180224_142809A New Arrival

In February we had a very special delivery – my gorgeous little baby nephew, Alfie.  He’s been with us just over a week now and he’s already made his mark on the family.   He’s also the first boy to be born in our family for 22 years, so it’s been a bit of a culture shock!

 Let it Snow!

The end of February couldn’t really have been further removed from the beginning.  Instead of moving forward into Spring, it’s like we digressed to the depths of Winter.  After all the false alarms and disappointing flurries, I finally got my snow days with the arrival of “The Beast from the East” (Which, for the record may be the worst EVER name for a cold spell and I’m slightly ashamed to have written it!)IMG_20180228_185857_160

And so ends another month in 2018.  I can’t wait to see what March brings….S Signature

    The shots from Hopton Hall are so gorgeous stace! You’re right the weather couldn’t have been different from the start to the end – I can’t get over the difference from this week til the last, I left the house in a skirt with no tights today… madness!
