Last week, I was fortunate enough to be invited to the VIP launch event for a new branch of RUSH Hair and Beauty in Nottingham. I’ve never been to a launch event before, so to say I was excited is a bit of an understatement.
RUSH Nottingham is incredibly easy to find. It’s located on Long Row, right in the heart of Nottingham city centre, near the lions. On arrival we were created by the lovely Claire, complete with a personalised lanyard and a glass of bubbly. Then it was time to mingle, make some new friends and have a good look around.
My first impressions of the salon were that is was incredibly airy and elegant. There are two storeys – downstairs you have the reception desk, a couple of styling stations and a hair washing station. Upstairs were yet more styling stations and another hair washing area. I don’t think you’ll ever be waiting around for a space to sit and have your hair done.
I particularly loved how spacious the styling rooms were. Sometimes in salons you can feel like you’re sat on the knee of the client next to you, but at RUSH there was plenty of room. You could relax and enjoy your treatment without feeling like people are breathing down your neck and listening into your conversations.
At the RUSH event, there were a number of styling stations set up so you could have your hair done if you wished. There was a “hair up” station, braiding, GHD styling and colour and cut consultations. I have to admit I didn’t actually have anything done to my hair – I was too busy gabbing (story of my life!). I did, however, see a number of other girls get theirs done and they all looked amazing.
The staff were all incredibly friendly and informative. I overheard them talking their “clients” through the treatment options and generally having a nice chat – always an important part of being a hairdresser! The braiding station seemed particularly popular – the poor chap had a queue for most of the evening.
As the evening drew to a close, we were all handed a little goody bag including some hair products, sweeties (always appreciated) and other little treats. There was even a voucher for a complimentary blow dry which I hope to get to try out soon.
I had a lovely evening at the RUSH event. It was fantastic to meet some other local bloggers. Special thanks to Hayley from Bunny Moonstone, Sophie from Sophie’s Notebook, Jay from Comic Books and Yellow Ducks and Jess from An Ounce of Grace for being for friendly and letting my hijack their group. I’m always a bit worried that I’ll end up standing on my own in a corner. Also, thanks for saying you can’t believe how old I am – always appreciated!
RUSH Nottingham is now open to the public. You can find out how to book and details on any offers on their website here. They also have many other branches around the country, so if you’re not Nottingham based, there may be an alternative closer to you.
Thank you very much to all the staff at RUSH Nottingham for a very enjoyable evening and thank you to Claire from Tank PR for inviting me to this event. I wish you all the best with the new salon and hope to see you all again soon.
