The ‘Alice 1951’ Tag

I’d like to start by thanking Danielle from Underland to Wonderland for tagging me in this Alice in Wonderland tag.  I do love the Disney tag posts and I was really excited to get the chance to do another one.

I have to admit that I’m really not that big a fan of the 1951 Alice In Wonderland film.  Don’t get me wrong – I don’t dislike it.  It’s just not really one of my favourites.  Still, seeing as Moogle’s birthday party theme this year was Mad Hatter’s Tea Party it seemed really apt that this tag should come up.

So, as best as I can, here are my answers:

Who in Wonderland would you choose to be your best friend?

I personally find most of the characters in Wonderland either frightening or annoying, but I think if I absolutely had to choose I’d say the White Rabbit.  He’s super efficient and organised so maybe he’d rub off on me a little.  Plus I could use someone constantly hurrying me up as I can be a bit of a procrastinator.

Would you rather be humungous or teeny tiny?

This is a really hard choice.  Being teeny tiny sounds scary and potentially dangerous, but being huge would be really inconvenient.  Where the heck would you live?  I’d probably have to lean towards being humungous as if I was really small I’d be terrified of being trodden on or eaten! (I went on the Honey I Shrunk the Audience ride in Disneyworld and was traumatised – especially the snake bit!)

What would your personal Wonderland look like?

When I think of Wonderland, I think of somewhere really bright and colourful,.  I imagine it would look quite zany with maybe some topsy turvy features.  It should definitely look like somewhere you’ve never seen before.  Not like any landscape you’d see in the real world.

If you could take one possession with you to Wonderland, what would you take?

Erm…there’s nothing I really can’t live without except maybe my phone but I very much doubt you’d get WIFI in Wonderland.  Maybe I’d take a notebook and pen (although I suppose that counts as two) so that I could make notes of everything I saw.  I’m sure I’d get some excellent blog material while I was visiting,

Similarly, if you could take someone with you to explore, who would you take?

I was going to say I’d take my hubby (so he could look after me in all the weirdness), or Moogle as she’d probably think it was “awesome”.  But on reflection I think I’d have to take my best friend Faith on a trip to Wonderland.  If it’s really true that “we’re all mad here”, then I think she’d fit right in!

Would you most enjoy: Sailing in a glass bottle or falling down a rabbit hole?

I imagine I would find sailing in a glass bottle quite claustrophobic, but after the initial shock of falling it might be quite nice to float down the rabbit hole, seeing all the weird and wonderful things around me.

Minus the Red Queen, who would you least like to bump into?

Everyone – they’re all loose cannons – who knows what they’d do? Maybe I’d try and stay away from the Mad Hatter and March Hare.  All their nonsense talk and contradictory comments would drive me crazy REALLY quickly.

In the garden, which type of flower do you think you would be?

I really do not think of myself as pretty or dainty as any kind of flower, but maybe I’d be something really ordinary and common-place, like a dandelion or a daisy.

Which of these locations would you like to call home: The Dormouse’s Teapot, The Cheshire Cat’s tree, The Red Queen’s Castle, The Caterpillar’s Mushroom.

I am pretty sure I was supposed to be born into royalty and there was some dreadful mixup at my birth.  Therefore, I would quite happily make myself comfortable at the Queen’s castle (although I’d probably have to evict her first – she’s far too shouty!)

10. What would you do if you had to stay in Wonderland for 5 years at a time or could never visit again?

If I’m being brutally honest, I’m not sure I’m suited to the madness of Wonderland.  I’m not sure I have the greatest sense of whimsy and I think I’d probably get really fed up with the whole “normal rules don’t apply” thing REALLY quickly.  I’m a bit too practical for all that nonsense. I’ve no doubt that one trip to Wonderland would be more than enough for me.  I’d love to pay a quick visit, to have a look and say I’ve been, but I don’t imagine I’d be rushing back again.

So there are all of my answers to the Alice In Wonderland tag.  Thanks again for tagging me Danielle.  You can check out her original post and answers here.  Once again, I’m not really sure who to tag as I’m not sure who has or hasn’t done this one.  So if you love Alice In Wonderland, or Disney in general, or you just love doing tag post – I tag you!! Just remember to let me know you’ve done it so I can come and read your answers!!
