A Mess In A Dress

It's a mixed up life...but someone has to live it!

Hello October!

Hello October!

October 1, 2015

Well, hello October.  Fancy meeting you again so soon!

Seriously, I know it’s clichéd but did I blink and miss September?  I have no idea where that month went.

For those of you who are interested, here’s a quick update of how September panned out:

Work

Flipping mental!  The start of a term is always hectic, but with computer problems and new systems thrown into the mix, things got really crazy this term.  I spent most of the time chasing my tail, drowning under heaps of paper and frantically playing catch-up.  This is not the organised and efficient way I normally like to work.  With no sign of it easing up before November, I’d best buckle up and get set for a bumpy ride.

Life

Generally uneventful with the occasional dash of Eastenders-style drama thrown in for good measure! Oh, and a three week long celebration for a certain 2-year old’s birthday.

Blog

Unsurprisingly, I didn’t manage to blog nearly as much as I had planned, but that probably serves me right for picking one of the busiest months in the year to start a new blogging regime.  Still, I did manage to right some posts I was very happy with and also had the most views per month I’ve ever had.  So, while not perfect there was some definite improvement.

In case you’re interested, my most popular posts in September were:

A day I wouldn’t care to repeat – Ironically a post that I didn’t really write for anybody but myself was my most popular post this month! Figures…

My university story – A blunt and honest account of my time at uni and why I decided not to stay.

A letter to Bug on your 2nd birthday – does what it says on the tin!

So, barrelling straight into October.

This could be a very interesting month, with some great highs to look forward to and some deeper lows to absolutely try not to think about. It’s also going to be another ridiculously busy month.  I already have a full diary for almost every weekend with highlights including weddings, burlesque shows, days out and lots more beside.

The upside of this is that I will have stacks to blog about – my editorial calendar for this month is already exciting me! The downside is that I might just be too knackered to write a single word.  But we’ll see how we go.

October is going to be the month for getting organised.  I love this time of year, as the woolly jumpers go on, the dark nights draw in and I get to start planning for Christmas (yes, I said it).  It’s just around the corner and I always like to be prepared.  You’ll notice that some posts this month will include details of the early preparations I make for the festive period.

So without further ado, let’s get October underway and see where it takes us!  What are you plans for October?  Do you have anything exciting to share?  Leave a comment below!
