My Current Blog Crush: Dorkface.co.uk

Last week, I introduced you to a new series that would be featured on A Mess In A Dress, all  about the blogs I’m currently crushing on.  These are the blogs that I can’t get enough of, that I’ll always resist and that I love to binge-read.

It was really hard to decide who to feature first, as there are just so many blogs that I’m currently becoming acquainted with.  Then I realised that this series of posts is supposed to be focussing on supporting and promoting other people’s work, and when I think of that kind of positivity and support I always think of one person – Jemma from Dorkface.co.uk

In case you don’t already know, Jemma is the mastermind genius behind #TheGirlGang which is an awesome blogging group all about promoting and supporting other bloggers (and non-bloggers alike).

I’ve only recently joined up with #TheGirlGang and I already feel like my blogging experience has been lifted beyond anything I’ve felt before.  I recently took part in the #GGbookclub chat on Little Women and also participated in the #GGmovienight where we all watched Mean Girls at the same time.  This was by far one of the most interesting evenings I’ve ever had and I suddenly began to realise why people are so into Twitter.  I’d never really got it before.

I’ve already found a bunch of other like-minded bloggers through #thegirlgang and I genuinely can’t wait to see what we get up to next.  I can’t remember the last time I was this excited about something that didn’t include chocolate!  (Although maybe it will involve chocolate- that would be amazing!!)

While doing a tad of research for this post, I read the #thegirlgang FAQ page on Dorkface.co.uk.  Up until then, I had no idea just how much time and effort Jemma has put in to keep this group up and running – I’m in total awe.

Aside from managing #thegirlgang, Jemma also writes her own blog posts on Dorkface.co.uk.  She posts really varied content, from blogging tips, to beauty reviews to just general positive and uplifting posts about life.  I really believe there’s something for everyone.  Oh and she also designs blog headers and logos etc, which are ridiculously cute and I’m planning on ordering one as soon as I’ve found some spare cash floating around!

Some of my favourite posts I’ve read so far are:

9 ways to support your favourite bloggers

Inside my journal

Beauty Blogging: Do we have to be experts?

10 things you might not know about my blog/routine

And finally…

30 day social media challenge (which I’m hoping to do for myself in June! – ha! I love challenges but I always suck at sticking to them!)

I don’t know Jemma personally, but from the stuff I’ve read on her blog and Twitter she seems like a really nice down-to-earth person, and that’s the kind of person I want to be reading more about.

If you’re already following Dorkface.co.uk – good for you!  Keep at it!  If not, why don’t you hop on over to see her and read for yourself.

I’m off now to try and pick who should be featured in next week’s episode of “My Current Blog Crush” – maybe I should invest in a randomiser??

Ta ta for now!
