March Review/April Goals

Gosh darn it!   When i started writing this post it was about the 4th April and I was feeling pretty smug that I’d actually get around to writing my review post. Then I got distracted and never finished so now it’s the 14th April.  Grrrr! Maybe next month I’ll be a little more prompt.

If I’m honest, I’m not entirely sure why I write these posts, as I very rarely look at them and I almost never think about whether I’m meeting my goals during the month.  I never seem to have the time.  Still, I suppose it doesn’t hurt to look back at what you’ve achieved over the past 4 weeks, and plan ahead for the upcoming month.

March was a much anticipated month.  It took a very long time to arrive and it held an awful lot of potential to be the best month ever. But with great power comes great responsibility (ha!) and when you build up your expectations there is always the risk that you’ll be disappointed.

So, in review…

Around the house there has been definite progress made.  I’ve managed to get some of the organisationy (ok, not a real word) jobs done that I’ve been planning for ages. The house is starting to look more together, more finished.  It seems ridiculous to say this, as I’ve lived here for 10 years now, but it’s starting to feel like a real home.  Oh, and don’t even get me started on my new dining chair covers – I think I’m in love!

Easter has been wonderful and I’m loving the holidays so far.  You can read about my escapades in much more detail here.  I absolutely love seeing my pretty little Easter tree when we sit down for a family meal, even if the girls do insist on moving the eggs around whenever my back is turned!

I actually managed to post on the blog 5 times in March, so I’m rather pleased that with everything else going on I actually managed to find the time to write and publish posts.  And I’m actually really please with some of the content. My Burlesque post and Lindy Bop wish list are particular favourites.

As for reading – ha!  Can we just forget I ever entertained the idea of doing a reading challenge?  My free time is remarkably limited, so when I do get time to sit down and stick my nose in a book I want it to be a book I’m desperate to read – not one I’m reading for the sake of it.  I may keep you informed of any books I read that are particularly note-worthy, but I’m not going to sweat it.

So, what about April then?

Well, we’re already half way through so it’s probably not worth making any big plans – I think I’m just going to aim for more of the same.

Household – The house has reached a pretty manageable state and I’d really like to keep it that way.  As always there are little niggly jobs that need doing (may I draw your attention to the bag of odd socks I’ve been collecting!).  I need to be realistic and admit that I don’t feel like doing heaps of housework after a long day at work, but I’m going to aim to do one small job every night and hopefullyI’ll slowly chip away at it all.

Blogging –  I’ve definitely got the blogging bug again, and I have lots of things I’m looking forward to writing about.  It’s not always easy to find the time to dedicate to the blog and it’s upkeep, but I’d like to try and raise the bar a little for the rest of this month.  As well as posting at least twice a week (you lucky devils), I always want to spend more time reading and networking with other bloggers.  I have a few ideas where this is concerned…you’ll see more over the next couple of weeks.

I don’t really have many other goals for this month…oh, apart from finally finishing my Disney jigsaw!  It’s suppressing tough!

Enjoy the rest of April, folks and I’ll see you for the review in a couple of weeks!
