Isn’t it lovely when a post writes itself? This is possibly the easiest post I’ve ever written.
Before I move forward into 2016, I decided to review the blog over the last 12 months.
It’s been a pretty exciting time really. My blogging may have been a bit sporadic, but I’ve always been pleased with the content I’ve created and enjoyed starting to learn how to network and participate in the blogging community.
In 2015, according to WordPress dashboard, which I know isn’t the most reliable of sources, I had 3195 views and 821 visitors. Now, I know it may seem crass to discuss numbers, and I’m sure the real bloggers out there are rolling their eyes at my stupidly insignificant figures, but to me they are flipping amazing!
That’s over 4 times as many views as I had the previous year. If I continue at this rate this year, I might actually start to feel like I’m not just writing this blog for myself! (And my Nanna, who is easily my biggest fan – although she may have some competition from my best friend who has been with me since the very beginning – hello you pair!! Thanks for sticking with me!)
In 2016, I hope to build on this even more, read and interact with more bloggers (there are so many interesting people out there – I can’t keep up!) I would like to be a little more consistent with posting – but to be honest, if my heart’s not in it I don’t see the point on writing it – that’s not fair on the readers.
In case you’re interested, my top 5 most popular posts in 2015 were (in reverse order):
5 ) My university story – All about my ill fated attempt at university and why I decided not to finish my degree.
4) Blogging just ain’t what it used to be – When blogging gets bad
3) A day I wouldn’t care to repeat – one of my most honest and deep posts, it was actually quite hard re-reading it as it brought back some pretty unpleasant memories. But it was one of the most read posts last year. I suppose misery really does like company.
2) 30 things – Pride and Prejudice Live – Possibly the funniest theatre I’ve ever seen, re-reading this post just reminded me how much I loved it – I even went back a second time. It was helped by the fact that it was shared by members of the cast! Thanks guys – looking forward to seeing you in something this year!!
So there you have it. And just to finish off, my favourite post this year (although it was very hard to choose) was all about my birthday celebrations.
I finally picked this one as it was such a good week, with so many wonderful memories and this post just brings them all back to me.
Thank you for taking the time to read A Mess In A Dress this year. Please stop by and say hello sometimes, if you’re a new reader or old. Nothing makes me happier than hearing from people who’ve visited. And I always try to return the favour.
If there’s anything you’d like me to write about, or you’d be interested in reading, please let me know in the comments below and I’ll see what I can do.
